Right Brain Training

Please take the time to read the ''healing energy' page and the 'cellular healing' page. They provide the background information that assists the understanding of the concept and route used for right brain training. It assists us to make the shift from the particle theory to that of the quantum wave theory. It is through light and vibration that many things are possible!

I am not shouting, I would just like the reader to be able to follow the line of reasoning. Some of this material boarders on the unbelievable if one does not have a foundation from which to wonder and explore.

“Every child is a genius.”                                                                                                 Dr Makoto Shichida

About Dr Shichida

Professor Makoto Shichida was born in 1929. He  was a fellow of the International Academy of Education and advisor to the Japan Mathematical Certification Association. He holds a doctorate in education and is well known in Japan for his numerous contributions to brain research and learning achievement.

He received the highest Honorable Merit Prize by the World Science Council in 1997 and the World Peace Prize in 1998. In 2003, he was bestowed the Swedish Academy for Health and Medical Sciences Grand Prize and the Higashiku Ninomiya Invention Award. In recognition of his contribution to child development, he received another PhD in Psychology in 2004.

At 79 years of age, when I attended his lectures; he was a very energetic and very passionate about children’s learning ability. His entire life’s work has culminated in the development of simple techniques, which facilitate the development of the right side of the brain. He advocates the balanced use of both cerebral hemispheres.

In April, Dr Shichida left his physical body. As the cherry blossoms burst forth on the trees in the Japanese spring, he departed. He left behind his schools, his teachings and his students; to continue his work. The ability to think beyond the paradigm and decades of research will guide future generations. We respect him and are grateful that he touched our lives.

Introduction

In ancient civilizations right brain activity was well developed. The ancient people lacked telephones, radar, cars and other forms of technology. Despite this limitation they could, by the use of higher senses, bridge the limitations of distance. Modern man is predominantly left brained; we use language and sequential learning to acquire knowledge.

This is a tedious lengthy process. Left-brain based education clouds right-brain activity and the resultant student frustration contributes to dissatisfaction in the classroom. ADD and ADHD are they afflictions or are they a response to an unbalanced education system that focuses only on one cerebral hemisphere?

Doctors and scientists became aware of the right brain through the emergence of people with ‘Savants’ syndrome. These people had tremendous memorization skills, generally termed photographic memory. Their ability to calculate complex equations was almost instant and correct. In short, they saw the world in terms of images and patterns. This is the domain of the right brain.

Far from being unique, we all possess these abilities. At birth, our right brain is fully activated. Mothers and fathers can communicate with their offspring via telepathy. How often have you seen a tense mother with a screaming baby? As the mother calms down, loves and caresses her child harmony is restored. Up to the age of six years, this ability is present. If not stimulated the ability will diminish and become dormant (dormant not extinct).

Children learn much faster than we formerly imagined. By nature, they are very in tune with life around them. Children are very spiritual; the advice coming from a young set of lips often shows wisdom beyond their years. Using a simple series of steps: meditation, breathing and imaging; the right brain is progressively activated to reveal potential previously thought impossible.

Although early training is optimal, it is never too late to awaken these abilities in oneself. The area in the right frontal lobe, previously thought to be a silent area, is the area where these wonderful abilities reside. When using Quantum Speed Reading, brain topography shows an increase in the theta brain wave activity, in this so called silent zone. This type of brain wave is appropriate for study.

Unique Functions of the Right Brain

The functions of the right brain include; ESP or the higher senses of sight, hearing, smell taste and touch, right brain sensory perception (holistic mind), right brain arithmetic, right brain memory and right brain acoustic pitch (perfect pitch).Right brain memory is in image form and long lasting and right brain thoughts come as inspirations.

It is the half of the brain that has the following unique faculties: resonance function, imaging/ visualization,  high-speed mass memorization and high speed automatic processing function.

Benefits of Right Brain Training

Several wonderful benefits are attributed to waking up the right brain. The holistic abilities of this area explain the diversity of benefits listed.

  • Better health
  • Precognitive ability development
  • Memory improvement
  • Development of intuition
  • Improved timing
  • Enhanced concentration
  • Imaging powers and wish fulfilment
  • Improved interpersonal relations
  • Feelings of stability
  • Positive life changes

QSR (Quantum Speed Reading) Technique

Using a simple series of steps: meditation, breathing and imaging; the right brain is progressively activated. Clear imaging powers must be present before the next step is taken. Once children are able to form and hold steady images, they begin to flip rapidly through books.

QSR is one of the child’s natural talents or abilities. This is done by rapidly flipping through the pages of a book. No emphasis is placed on reading the written word. The vibrations coming from the book are perceived and converted into colours and then images. The images can be seen and the content instantly understood. It is like the analogy of the blind man and the elephant. A sighted man can instantly see and know that it is an elephant before him. A blind man must painstakingly feel, smell and sense to reach the same conclusion.

The right brain processes information at high speed, allowing the words to become images and images to join and become pictures. Resonance is a right brain function, i.e. the ability to communicate information in a universal way. Language of the text thus becomes irrelevant. The colours emanating from the book reflect the level of comprehension. Red through to yellow indicates poor levels of comprehension. The child may not have come across the concept yet and so can’t comprehend it. Green through to purple indicate good comprehension. White light indicates universal understanding i.e. the need for co-operation and friendship in society.

Dedication

At the conclusion of this seminar, Dr Shichida was asked if we could share this information. He encouraged all participants to share this information as broadly as possible. This method of teaching is already in practice in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. The results are truly amazing. The teaching develops bright, happy spiritually aware souls. Our future is indeed bright!

Early in 2009 this wonderful soul left his physical body. He had the vision and conviction to look at the abilities we all have and to use the open and receptive minds of children to reveal to the world , these teachings. His techniques developed over a lifetime in the education sector, have not been limited to the gifted but are applicable to children with handicaps of all types also. The plasticity of the brain continues to command extensive reseach and many beliefs previously held are now being discarded.

The following letter is taken from “The Shichida Method” web site. It shines with light and optimism as Dr Shichida encourages parents to look at child education from a new perspective.

Dear Parents,

We have crossed the threshold of the 21st Century. What will this new era bring? I am convinced it will be a brilliant century full of hope, one that will transform the world.

From ages 0-3, the right brain works dominantly. During this period, it is important to provide as much as a baby needs, and to stimulate his or her five senses regularly. This is also a time when the child is fast absorbing information and is extremely eager to learn.

Children grow and mature faster than parents think. The human brain rapidly starts developing soon after birth. At the age of six, 70% of the brain is developed, and at around the age of 10, almost 90% of the brain is developed. To make corrections or changes later on will prove to be an incredibly hard task, and great effort will be needed for it.

When the right brain is developed well together with the left brain, the heart will be raised to a high level of potential. That is when a child is able to exceed our expectations and show his or her strengths. As a parent, please believe in this possibility - the potential your child carries, by loving him or her, and nurturing them well.

These children are tapping powers we never knew existed as if they are perfectly normal. Watching them rapidly memorize enormous amounts of information and recall with precision and understanding, predict future events, improve their athletic ability instantaneously serve as a guide for education that will revolutionize conventional approaches to child raising in the 21st Century.
