Meditation
"True silence is the rest
of the mind. it is to the spirit what sleep is to the body"
William Penn
Why should we meditate?
Our true nature is naturally calm and serene. Anxieties, fears, wishes
and hopes cloud our minds. Often our mind is like a muddied pool; once
the churning stops: we are able to see more deeply and more clearly. We
are able to make better decisions. Calmness and peace allow us to view
troubling situations objectively. They introduce us to the fact that we
can become detached; not reacting as much to unwelcome thoughts and
feelings.
At first it is quite hard to get the hang of
meditation. Our preconceived ideas and the need for immediate
success affects us in a child like way, colouring our attempts. Find a
meditation style that you can relate to then be prepared to persist.
Focus can vary a lot depending on what else is happening around
you. Try not to judge. In time you will notice a stillness which creeps
up on you so gently that it may initially go unnoticed. on day i
noticed a gap in the chatter, my mind was still.
“Everything changes, nothing
remains without change.”

Benefits of Meditation

Take some time to gaze into the
above photograph. The birch tree shown is an analogy of your incarnated
Soul. It shows a mixture of foliage, background and radiance from an
external source (the sun). Which part represents you, the incarnated
Soul? The foliage is similar to the many distractions that exist in our
daily lives often clouding our vision. The background is another
distraction, just a frame of reference. The light ray whilst very
beautiful is external like many of the material trinkets included in
our daily lives.
From my understanding, the trunk
in this photo, is the incarnated Soul. Meditation is a tool to help us
to cut through the distractions that confuse us, occupying space so
that we are unable to make clear consistent contact with our true
selves.

Twin Hearts Meditation
Meditation cleanses the energy body. Twin Hearts is a guided meditation
which is easy to follow. It opens the emotional heart (heart chakra)
and the divine heart (crown chakra). When meditating on Twin Hearts
divine energy flows down filling the meditator with light, love and
power. The crown chakra can only be opened when the heart chakra is
sufficiently open. The heart chakra facilitates balance harmony and
kindness in all aspects of life.

Weekly Twin Hearts Meditations
Weekly Twin Hearts Meditation sessions are now available to
the general public. They are a free community service for anyone who
would like to try meditation or anyone already meditating on a regular
basis. For information regarding a group in your local area please go
to www.aiis.com.au and follow the meditation link.
These groups are run by Arhatic Yogis who offer their time to introduce
members of the public to the wonderful benefits of meditation. At
the present time the closest group to Sunbury is located in
Delahey (near Watergardens Shopping Centre). For information about
this group contact Alijca 0403 025 854. This group is well established,
